SubSync

Your subtitles, in step with the film. The film plays wherever you already watch it, and this screen shows the captions beside it, with optional English or Sinhala translation.

Find it automatically

Start the film, then tap. Listens for about 15 seconds, works out which film it is, downloads the subtitles and lines them up.

Or search by name

Or load a .srt yourself

Watch in sync

Free · works offline once loaded · the film itself never leaves your TV.

How it works

Three ways to get subtitles

Listen & find hears the film through the microphone for about 15 seconds, works out which film it is, and asks you to confirm before downloading. Search by name lets you pick the release that matches your copy. Or load a .srt file, pasted text or a link yourself, with no account.

Syncing

When the captions open, tap anywhere the moment you hear the line shown and they lock on. Nudge by ±0.1s or ±1s (or the ← → keys). If the film slowly drifts, use Fix drift: tap A on an early line and B on a late one. Alignment is remembered per file.

Translation

Optional, to English or Sinhala. Groq AI (sign in) translates about 40 lines at a time, so a film takes a couple of minutes. MyMemory needs no account but has a small daily quota. Every translated line is saved on this device for offline use. Machine translation is approximate, Sinhala especially.

On an iPad or phone

Open this page in Safari, then Share → Add to Home Screen to launch it full-screen. The caption screen is pure black, so an OLED screen barely lights up. A browser can't hear Netflix or other apps directly, so Tap to sync is the dependable way to line up.
